ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION (EPD)
Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Zinco Green Roof Systems
What is an Environmental Product Declaration?
EPDs provide data on all relevant environmental impacts of construction products over their entire life cycle. All data are reviewed and verified by an independent body. They include, for example, information on energy and resource use, waste generation and the extend to which a product contributes to the global warming potential, ozone depletion and smog formation.

EPDs for Zinco Green Roof Systems
All Zinco EPDs are reviewed and verified by epd global and are based both on EN 15804+A2 and on the international standard ISO 14025. Zinco provides verified EPDs for green roof systems. These are based on the service lives of components specified by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development, and Building for life cycle assessments in accordance with the Assessment System for Sustainable Building (BNB).
EPDs as a gateway to public construction projects and greater sustainability
EPDs are indispensable today when assessing the sustainability of buildings as part of a building certification system (LEED, BREEAM, Green Globes, HQE, DGNB, BNB) or in the case of public tender projects. Furthermore, they are often significant for quality verification when providing loans and funding.
With the current verifications by EPD Global, EPDs are now available for over 20 different, standard Zinco system build-ups.
In addition, Zinco can generate, on request, Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) as manufacturer declarations for customised project-specific systems with different individual products such as protection and drainage layers, filter sheets and more.
