The modern headquarters of the family-run company Farming Agrícola is located on a 32-hectare site in Villamartín de Campos. The extravagant office building with around 1,000 m² of blossoming roofscape looks as if the body of the building rises gently from the ground. Full-surface glass façades on both front sides allow easy views in and out lending the building even more charm. The roofs of the office building can be divided into three sections: Flat roof, pitched roof and steep pitched roof. The steep pitched roofs with an inclination of 40–45° presented the greatest technical challenge. They were fitted with stable, sealed shear barriers that safely transfer the shear forces into the roof structure. XPS insulation (inverted roof), TGV 21 separation membrane and Georaster® elements completed the build-up. Floraset® 75 elements were installed in areas with a 20° pitch and on the flat roofs Floradrain® FD 25-E was used. For immediate ground covering to prevent erosion, pre-cultivated vegetation mats “Mediterranean flowering meadow” adapted to the dry and hot Spanish climate, were finally installed in all roof areas.

Thanks to the green roof areas the architecture blends perfectly into the surroundings. -
The vegetation mats suited to the local climate gradually reveal their floral splendor. -
The 40–45° pitched steep roof areas are very well prepared with the Georaster® elements. -
The system substrate Roof Garden is held firmly in place in the 100 mm high Georaster® elements. -
It actually looks as if the colorful meadow flowers are climbing up the roof.
